Acoustic Open Mic Nights

Hello everybody. Yes, its been a while since I have posted a blog here, but I have been so busy with everything thats going on, i rarely have time to write anymore, and i apologize.

I Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for joining us each and every Thursday night at Busters Lounge for the Acoustic Open Mic Nights. Its been a wonderful year, I love hosting the show as well as performing for you and I'm looking forward to another great year to come. My Good friend and fellow songwriter Bob Gentry was recently nominated for Rock Singer/ Songwriter of the year for his great song "Upside Down".

I'm very proud of my dear friend and wish him the best in all that he does. He's a great friend and such a great musician/ songwriter. Please check him out. Purchase one or two of his cd's, tshirts, etc. He's well worth it. On top of it all, he's a fellow Detroiter, that just happens to live in Hollywood. (Thats the way i look at it anyways...lol)

Ok, well, the 23 year helicon reunion that I have been working on and with for months now, is FINALLY over!

Dont get me wrong. it was a great time, and a pretty good turnout, but i dont think i'll be ready to commit myself to anything like this again for another 23 years.

It was great getting together with the guys again after all these years, but ....well, lets just say I'm glad its over with!

Thanks to all who attended, and I so look forward to being back to Busters with all of you this and EVERY Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

It's been apx 4 months now since I have started and became host of what has beome one of Michigans favorite open mic nights around.
We went from a few customers and a few musicians in the beginning, to almost packed houses every Thursday nights from 8pm till Midnight (or so), bringing in tons of musiciains from all over Michigan, as well as Nashville. We have muisicians of all ages, skill levels, and styles.
It's a MUST that you stop in.
You just never know who you might see there!

Yeah, I know...its been since aug that i have written. You're probably getting sick and tired of hearing how hectic things have been, but imagine how sick and tired i am of having to deal with them...lol.

This guy....I just dont know what to say about him (see how i move from my own personal situations to something else...lol), I have said it before and i'll say it again. I'm so proud to have him as my friend. We go so far back and he has got to be one of the most talented and gifted songwriters of all time. I love his music, and i love the man. So, check him out, give him a listen, buy his cd's they are more than worth it and better than anything you'll hear on the radio today, I personally guarantee it.

Hello all,
Just wanted to let ya know that the new "Annie Richards & Jester"- with Bob, cd is complete, is ttitle "Sideeffect" and will be released in Sept 2005.
We have a couple cd release parties that we will be holding. One is Sept 24th at Canterbury Village which is off of I-75 and Joslyn rd (i believe).
This will be an early show starting at 8:30am (i believe...lol. YIKES, but it will be a lot of fun and well worth it!), check www.sideeffectweb.net for more info.
We also will be holding another cd release party at Busters Lounge in Sept as well, but for the life of me I cant remember the date on that one.lol.

Been real busy with this new recording project I'm involved in. I'm real tired right now so I wont get too deep into it with ya but just thought I'd let ya know that we are just about done in the studio with this cd and its going to be great!

An old friend of mine who used to follow me around and support my musical career back in my "Rock Star daze" sent me this old photo of her and I. I believe this was taken at one of our bigger shows at The Ritz, apx 1989 (I thought you might find this as amusing as i did!...LMAO!)
Jumping to 2005, I am in the middle of confirming studio time for the new project. "Side Effect" is to record at Tempermill Studios in Ferndale Michigan in Aug and the new CD will be released in Sept. tempermill is a very well known studio with many music awards to its credit. Kid Rock recorded his first two cd's there, and they have also worked with artist like The White Stripes and many others.
Keep your eyes and ears open, this is going to be GREAT!
